As a contributor to Ex-Gay Watch, I have researched and written on issues relating to the s0-called "Ex-Gay" movement - conservative Christians promoting ministry and therapy to help homosexuals change their orientation and/or overcome ostensibly sinful behaviour.

→ Researcher & Writer for Youth Tribes project (Ramp Industries, on behalf of Channel 4)
For this project, Channel Four was looking into different groups of young people in the UK. I looked particularly at the groups known as "townies" - the average kids with average tastes and average aspirations. For my research I interviewed 16-to-25-year-olds at random on the streets of Liverpool, and these were some of my results.

→ Feature Writer Third Way Magazine
This was part autobiographical, part investigative journalism. I looked into the so-called "Ex-Gay" movement - conservative Christians who believe change from gay to straight is both possible and necessary - and its activities in the UK. I interviewed people both in the movement and outside, and wrote up my findings in this 2500-word feature for a leading progressive Christian magazine.
→ Communications Director for Prescot Festival of Music and the Arts
As Communications Director, I have put pen to paper in almost every aspect of organizing and promoting the Prescot Festival - letters, newsletters, press releases, programmes and posters. Below is the 2006 Programme, of which I was editor and designer.
→ Listings Editor www.feedyourpsp.com (Ramp Industries, on behalf of Sony)
For this web-based magazine, I wrote between 30 and 60 monthly blurbs promoting the latest releases on Sony's PlayStation Portable games console, including both games and movies. Learning the lingo of the gaming world was a fun part of the job.

→ Contributor to Leaving Fundamentalism, ed. Elijah Dann (forthcoming book)
I was approached in 2005 by University of Waterloo (Ontario) Professor Elijah Dann to contribute a 6,000-word chapter to a forthcoming book about religious fundamentalism. I drew mainly on personal experience to write this account of my journey through fundamentalist charismatic Christianity.
I am a British-Canadian with roots in Liverpool, England, and Vancouver, British Columbia. I am passionately involved in my community through media, music and the arts, and my local parish church.
After studying Theology (BA Hons, University of Manchester), I returned to my native Canada, where I worked in pastoral ministry. On my return to the UK, I gained a PGCE in Religious Education and Citizenship (Edge Hill University) and spent a short time in secondary teaching.
My interests range from film, theatre and music to religion, linguistics and gay issues.
