Folk singer-songwriter
John Smith has made his name in the pubs and clubs of Liverpool, and
now brings his unique sound to the gothic surroundings of Prescot
Parish Church for the first time. Folk giant John Renbourn described
Smith as "the future of acoustic guitar music", and The Times
newspaper called him "a singular talent". Smith cites as his
influences Nick Drake and Bert Jansch, though his music has echoes
of contemporary greats such as Jose Gonzalez, Adem, Tunng and King
Creosote. His debut album, The Fox and the Monk, was released
in 2006.
